I would be glad to play music for your event. I’ve played hundreds of functions, from the grand opening of a Jiffy Lube to the opening ceremony at a world class tennis match at the Top Notch in Stowe, VT.

Weddings? I’ve played well-received ceremonies and receptions in tents, fields, halls, hotels, resorts, private homes, a dry land paddle steamer, an island in Lake Placid, a party boat—but not on the space shuttle or in a submarine … yet! And jazz at a funeral or memorial service has given beauty and joy to many folks who were dealing with the loss of a friend or relative.

I’ve played in all kinds of combos and in the Vermont Jazz Ensemble big band (more than 30 years in the VJE). I directed the South Burlington (VT) High School Jazz Ensemble for many years. I’ve worked successfully in the area of improvisation with hundreds of students, and I’ve assisted jazz ensemble directors by helping their groups strengthen their improvisation or ensemble skills. I often audition players for the Vermont All State Jazz Ensemble, and I’ve helped adjudicate many jazz festivals, including the IAJE High School Jazz Festival.
